Fantasy author George R.R. Martin began writing Game of Thrones, the first book in what was supposed to be an epic trilogy, in 1991. His sprawling A Song of Ice and Fire (ASOIAF) series has ballooned in the decades since and is now set to be seven books long, when it is finally complete.
Okay. Here's what I feel. Even if Winds of Winter did come out in the not so distant future, we are never going to see the publication of the end of the Song of Ice and Fire series in Martin's hand. I'll tell you why I think so. In Martin's current plan, he has to write, finish and publish Winds and A Dream of Spring to wrap up the story.
Martin's recent blog post serves as an exciting teaser for fans eagerly awaiting both the second season of House of the Dragon and the release of Winds of Winter – it certainly got my excitement
